Zafar ul Hassan

Mr. Zafar ul Hassan is a distinguished Pakistani economist and a former civil servant. He plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing macroeconomic policies that drive the nation’s economic growth. Mr. Hassan has previously held key positions, including Chief of the Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Section from 2014 to 2018, where he was instrumental in devising and executing strategies aimed at poverty reduction and sustainable development. He also served as Project Director for Pakistan’s SDG initiatives, contributing significantly to the formulation of the National SDG Framework in 2018 and the Social Protection Framework in 2016. His earlier roles include Chief of the Macroeconomic Section, Joint Economic Adviser at the Ministry of Finance, and Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, reflecting a robust career in economic policy and planning.
