OPPORTUNITIES AT RASTA, PIDE ISLAMABAD

The ‘RASTA — PIDE-Planning Commission Research Grants Programme’ is the largest economics and public policy research grants programme in Pakistan. Its mission is to develop an extensive research network of academia and think tanks across Pakistan producing high-quality, evidence-based policy research to inform Pakistan’s public policy process. The Network is comprised of over 350 universities and think tanks, 162 think tanks and consultancy firms, 194 foreign universities and institutes, 215 federal and provincial government organizations, and 6,735 researchers, practitioners, and professionals. So far RASTA has published 122 research reports/papers/books through funding.

The following assignment-based opportunities are available at RASTA for its various Demand-driven Research projects:

The ‘RASTA – PIDE & Planning Commission Competitive Research Grants’ requires the services of a qualified and experienced ‘Graphic Designer’ for the designing and production of research. The applicant must be able to develop concepts, graphics, and layouts for RASTA flyers, policy briefs, magazines, research reports, research papers, books, and other materials to visually communicate ideas, data, and research findings to a broader audience. This will allow RASTA-PIDE to bridge the research-policy gap by disseminating research findings, creating knowledge networks, and promoting research culture in Pakistan. The applicant must have demonstrated experience with design and photo-editing software; creativity and innovation; an understanding of the latest trends and aesthetics; excellent time management and organisational skills; accuracy and attention to detail; and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

This is an assignment-based opportunity. The selected individual/firm will work closely with the RASTA-PIDE Team and/or its fellows. Sub-contracting is prohibited under the agreement unless explicitly approved by RASTA PMU, with the approval of the Chairman RAC of RASTA-PIDE where appropriate.

Interested individuals/registered firms may submit their ‘Expression of Interest’ (Profile) at jobs.rasta@pide.org.pk. The qualifications, experience and suitability of a Graphic Designer for specific RASTA projects/assignments will be assessed by the RASTA Project Management Team. Keeping in view the performance, the services of the selected individuals (or team) may be extended/utilized for other RASTA projects. Kindly submit brief CVs, including projects/assignments conducted. Only shortlisted individuals/teams/firms will be contacted for interviews for specific assignments at RASTA, PIDE, Islamabad.

The RASTA requires the services of professional ‘Photographers’ for its Demand-driven Research project ‘Citypedia’ for the cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, D I Khan, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad. The photographers will be required to visit designated cities and capture high-quality images of people, public places, street life, and objects in accordance with the Citypedia TORs. Using a professional high-resolution camera (and a drone for aerial photography of landscapes and structures), the photographer will capture images for the Citypedia Reports and submit the package (high-quality, edited pictures) to PIDE-RASTA within the agreed timeframe and in accordance with the TORs. Since every city is unique in its landscape, culture, and geography, a list will be prepared in consultation with the Citypedia Team and Local Partners. The photographer will be required to submit 50-100 high-quality pictures from each city. Photographers may submit pictures for this assignment from their collection for consideration. The RASTA-PIDE will have the copyrights of the pictures selected from the package; however, the photographers will be acknowledged in the reports.

This is an assignment-based opportunity. In this assignment, skills, experience and quality of work will carry more weight than qualifications. The selected individual/ firm will work closely with the RASTA-PIDE Citypedia Team.

Interested individuals/registered firms may send their ‘Expression of Interest’ (Profile) and ‘Cover Letter’ to jobs.rasta@pide.org.pk. The skill, experience and suitability of photographers will be assessed by the Citypedia Team. Keeping in view the performance, the services of the selected individuals (or team) may be extended/utilized for other RASTA projects. Kindly include a brief profile that includes projects/assignments conducted. Only shortlisted individuals/teams/firms will be contacted for interviews for specific assignments at RASTA, PIDE, Islamabad.
