Asma Hyder remained Member (Social Sector), Planning Commission of Pakistan; Associate Professor, IBA, Karachi and NUST, Islamabad; Visiting Research Scholar and Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs, Carleton University, Ottawa; Visiting Research Fellow, London School of Economics and Political Science; and Research Fellow at PIDE Islamabad. Her research interests revolve around development issues with a specific focus on various labor market matters such as wage differentials, schooling, gender, health, and social wellbeing. While her work primarily revolves around addressing social issues in Pakistan, she is also investigating the household behavior and preferences related to child schooling during and after economic and climatic shocks in extremely vulnerable and poorest societies of the world. Her regional interest extends to Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
